Sunday 19 September 2010: Twin Peaks I was despatched this morning to pick up Mrs Smith's sister, who has been staying with her Mum, and drive her to the train station. Unfortunately a really interesting programme came on Radio Six, Bernard Sumner talking about starting Joy Division and how they got together for the first time. Before I knew it I had driven five miles past the house. Quick about turn and then a slightly faster than usual drive back into Edinburgh and she was delivered safely and on time.Photograph: Mr Smith/BlipfotoMonday 20 September 2010: Scottish icons Not one but two Scottish icons in the same blip! After a tough start to the week. Both for me and the poor sods who had to spend five hours locked in a room with me, I couldn't wait to get back to Edinburgh for a restorative pint so I swerved off the motorway to refuel. Feeling much better nowPhotograph: Mr Smith/BlipfotoTuesday 21 September 2010: Birthday girl Nana Alice enjoyed all the attention and kisses lavished upon her today. Wednesday 22 September 2010: Cotton and Wrinkle This is Cotton and Wrinkle. Otherwise knows as Ian Cameron and Andy Manley. One of the many pleasures of being involved with Catherine Wheels is being allowed to elbow my way into their precious rehearsal time and grab a quick blip. Photograph: Mr Smith/BlipfotoThursday 23 September 2010: Sara and Stephanie I zipped up my jacket, pulled up the hood, started cursing the torrential rain and was wondering what I could possibly get a blip of when, just a few steps out of the office, I practically tripped over Sarah and Stephanie enjoying a crafty fag and sharing an umbrella. They were only too happy to help out a drenched blipper in need.Photograph: MR Smith/BlipfotoFriday 24 September 2010: That Friday night feeling. The Flying Dutchmen arrived in town looking for "whisky and large breasted women". They weren't laughing fifteen minutes later when they'd drank all the Highland Park and realised their travel agent had booked them into a hotel 20 miles outside Edinburgh.Photograph: Mr Smith/BlipfotoSaturday 25 September 2010: Love me do As an exiled scouser the sound of a Beatles song being belted out in any dark corner always gets my attention and that's why I dragged the kids up Fleshmarket Close this afternoon. As well as some music I also got a blip out of it. We'd just left the City Art Centre where we'd spent a few hours in the activity centre. Eve drew a series of eye catching fairies, Ruby drew a collection of faces with different expressions. Joe drew a picture of his dad on the toilet.Photograph: Mr Smith/Blipfoto
