Sunday 12 September 2010: PEOPLE IN OSLO continues. Some people in Oslo are rarely walking in the streets. This unique lady is one of them. Some of you have followed my journal for a time now and know the reason why. Today I became so aware that the blessing of Alzheimers is that one can forget all the bad memories, and daughters like me can collect all the good and talk about them again and again so that we can laugh and laugh. But always there is a sadness and sorrow lurking just beneath the surface. Inside of her. And just beneath my surface too. Here the camera makes her tense, but I choose this shot as my blip because it captures her mixed emotions and showing me that inside every old person is a younger person wondering what the f... happened! I had to stop him. He walked with such confidence and looked so cool. His name is Christian Mejlænder Krogsvold, or Waterflame. He is a very talented composer and producer of orchestral breakbeat Photograph: Ingunn in Oslo/BlipfotoTuesday 14 September 2010: PEOPLE IN OSLO continues. There are still some leftover-tourists in Oslo even if summer definitely is over. I was quite charmed by these two gentleman, resting their feet, looking at the tourist map and trying to find the right direction in our tiny winy city. Old friendship is so touching, and these two reminded me in the sweetest way about the movie Grumpy old men played by Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau :-)) I hope you all have an excellent week!Photograph: Ingunn in Oslo/Blipfoto
Wednesday 15 September 2010: PEOPLE IN OSLO continues. Please meet this very special lady with a very special job and with a very special big heart, Kirsten Belck-Olsen. I met her in real life for the first time today, I will see her tomorrow and the nicest of all, I will meet her in October - hopefully in Gaza. I work in the trade union and she work in Norwegian People's Aid. Our organisations have some projects for Palestinian youth and women together. She has been in Gaza for 5 years as the country director for Norwegian People Aid. Kirsten has the patience and hope that is needed in her kind of job, and I admire her deeply. Needless to say, I can't wait to pack my bags to go to visit her and our projects!Photograph: Ingunn in Oslo/BlipfotoThursday 16 September 2010: PEOPLE OF OSLO continues. I have noticed this gentleman several times in my neighbourhood and wanted to photograph him many times. Today I got the opportunity to stop him:-) His name is Tewfik Hakimi, born in Ethiopia and is 49 years young. He lives in a posh area of the city, but loves my side of town. For the first time, I stopped a stranger without getting an email to send the photo to! I hope he will like to get a print in his mailboxPhotograph: Ingunn in Oslo/BlipfotoFriday 17 September 2010: PEOPLE OF OSLO continues. Look what I stumbled over today! I saw a lot of photos and discovered that some people in Oslo have extremely good ideas! Two photographers, Carolina Roka and Hans Fredrik Huuse have arranged a photo stunt. They invite professional and amateur photographers to send them 5 photos or more which they use to decorate the outside walls of the gallery View for one evening. They have a huge party and when the party is over and during the weekend anyone can take down photos they like for free. This year's theme is repetition. There will be a winner and she/he will be able to show their photos inside the gallery. I was thrilled by the idea and now that I know about this event I will surely send some photos next year! And tomorrow I will see if there are any photos left on the walls :-))Photograph: Ingunn in Oslo/BlipfotoSaturday 18 September 2010: PEOPLE OF OSLO continues. These two strangers, Jan-Willy "Beer-Mouth" Hamsund (right) and Morten "Flatbread" were on their way to the local pub and wanted me to take a photo of them. The gentlemen are both members in Norway's most famous and beloved orchestra, Kampen Janitsjar. Morten "Flatbread" just got a medal for being a member in the orchestra for 40 years, while Jan-Willy Beer-Mouth" is the one that keeps order in the instruments and notes. They have been friends for ever, both born in Tøyen (east-Oslo), and lived here all their lives. I think that is so exciting. I have lived here the last 13 years, and I love to hear them tell me about this area in their childhood. It must have changed so much! Photograph: Ingunn in Oslo/Blipfoto
