Blind Ravens fan to be 1st to announce NFL draft pick in Braille

The NFL routinely has guests make selections in the draft. Former players, all-time greats and even fans have graced the stage and television cameras at the NFL draft to make the pick for their respective teams. But no one has ever done what the Baltimore Ravens are doing with one lucky superfan.

The Ravens announced they’re letting Mo Gaba, 13, announce their fourth-round (No. 123 overall) selection. The difference is Mo is blind, making him the first person ever to announce an NFL draft pick in Braille.

Baltimore coach John Harbaugh got on the phone with 98 Rock in Baltimore to let Mo know he’ll be making the pick. It’s a pretty cute video.

Mo won’t be the only one on the stage. If the Ravens end up with a second-round pick — they don’t have one entering the draft — former running back Jamal Lewis will announce the selection. Former linebacker Adalius Thomas will announce a third-round pick (they hold two currently).
