Blind murder case turns into 'patricide', son along with other accused arrested in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi

JAMMU: In a bizarre incident, Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a son along with other accomplices in Reasi district who not only killed his father, disposed off the body but in order to escape from the clutches of law concocted a story about missing of his father.

Sharing details Sr Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi Amit Gupta said, "On March 30, this year a person namely Dalip Singh a resident of Tote- Bhomag Reasi appeared at Police Station and lodged a written complaint that his brother namely Paramjeet Singh son of Gopi Chand went missing from Reasi since March 27.

"On this a missing report was lodged at Police Station Reasi and further investigation started by Reasi Police to trace the missing person", he said.

"During the course of enquiry, using human as well as technical support, the police rounded up few suspects and it was found that the said person Paramjeet Singh is murdered by his real Son and some other accomplices," he said.

On this a Case FIR NO. 133/2023 under relevant sections of Law was registered at P/S Reasi and different teams of the police station formed to trace out the accused persons involved in the murder.

SSP Reasi Gupta said, "Police teams arrested the accused persons Sushil Chander son of Sansar Chand of Chorakote Bhomag Reasi, Vikas Thakur son of Paramjeet Singh (now deceased) of Tote-Bhomag Reasi and Vipan kumar son of Rattan Lal of Kotli Manotrian."

During interrogation the accused trio disclosed that they along with Seeta Ram son of Sansar Chand of Chorakote Reasi with common and criminal intention killed Paramjeet Singh on March 27 and buried his body near Serla Bhaga area.

SSP Reasi added that accordingly a team of P/S Reasi headed by SHO Reasi and FSL expert reached at the spot of burial in presence of Executive Magistrate and found the decomposed body of the deceased from the site.

After completing the legal formalities, the body was shifted to Reasi hospital and from where it was further sent to GMC Jammu for post-mortem and for further medical opinion by the expert.

SSP Reasi added that three accused have been arrested so far and further investigation in the case is going on the find the motive behind the murder of Paramjeet singh.

"More arrest in the case cannot be ruled out", he said, adding, "investigation shall incorporate each and every evidence to ensure justice is done in this heinous act".
