A man who died after falling onto tracks was unaware the train had not fully come to a stop because he was blind, it has been claimed.
Witnesses to the tragic incident at Eden Park Station, Beckenham, on Wednesday evening claimed the man was confused after hearing a train arriving on a different platform.
London Ambulance Service has confirmed medics were called at 7.07pm to reports of "a person injured by a train" at the station in south London but the "patient died at the scene".
It is understood another train was arriving moments before and the door sounder was already active, which led the man to believe his train was ready to board, witnesses say.

One photo from the scene show what appears to be a walking cane and backpack on the platform.
A train driver who was running the service between Hayes and Charring Cross is said to have raised the alarm with ambulance crews joined by British Transport Police and fire crews at the station.

A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: "We were called at 7.07pm yesterday evening (26 February) to a reports of a person injured by a train at Eden Park Station, Beckenham.
"We sent an ambulance, two medics in fast response cars, a team leader, an incident response officer and our Hazardous Area Response Team.
"We also dispatched an advanced trauma team – consisting of a paramedic and a doctor - from London’s Air Ambulance who responded by car.
"Sadly the patient died at the scene."
