Rachael on George
What were you hoping for?
A lovely evening with a guy who felt comfortable and knew how to ask questions of their date.
First impressions?
A bit nervous, but very friendly and chatty, easy to get into a conversation with.
What did you talk about?
Cats. Travelling. Skiing and ski seasons. Our jobs. Running into lamp-posts. So many things … we were the only ones left in the restaurant by the time it closed.
Most awkward moment?
I felt a bit weird eating my pigs in blankets with a knife and fork, but they were super messy!
Good table manners?
Yeah, totally fine.
Best thing about George?
He has a lot of enthusiasm for experiencing life and it’s very refreshing.
Would you introduce George to your friends?
For sure.
Describe George in three words
Respectful, fun and interesting.
What do you think George made of you?
A bit talkative, approachable and interested.
Did you go on somewhere?
Yes we went round the corner to watch some live music and have a couple more drinks.
And … did you kiss?
No, just a hug
If you could change one thing about the evening what would it be?
That I could have stayed out later.
Marks out of 10?
8.5.
Would you meet again?
I reckon so – we swapped numbers, so let’s see!
George on Rachael
What were you hoping for?
Someone friendly. I haven’t been on many dates and was a bit nervous.
First impressions?
Great smile and very confident.
What did you talk about?
Home towns (Newcastle and Northampton). Hobbies. The cats in our lives. How monkeys aren’t our favourite animals (they are a little devious).
Most awkward moment?
Sometimes people do not like that my previous work was with the military – it can also take over a conversation, which isn’t ideal. She was fine with it, which is always a good sign.
Good table manners?
Excellent.
Best thing about Rachael?
When she gets excited, her Newcastle accent comes out. It’s very cute.
Would you introduce Rachael to your friends?
Yes, I’m sure they would get on well.
Describe Rachael in three words
Confident, adventurous and caring.
What do you think Rachael made of you?
Hopefully that I’m a person she wants to meet again.
Did you go on somewhere?
To the Blues Kitchen Shoreditch – they had some live music going until late.
Did you kiss?
No, just hugged.
If you could change one thing about the evening what would it be?
That I’d asked more questions and that we hadn’t both had plans the next day, so we could have gone hard into the early hours.
Marks out of 10?
8.5 – it was a very good date.
Would you meet again?
Friday evening looks to be on the cards!
