And so it continues: Adam Sandler's mission to destroy civilisation with his vomit-inducing blend of mawkish sentimentality and dead-on-arrival humour, all bundled up in a putrid package of festering family-friendly fun. Here, he reunites with Drew Barrymore for a bowel-moving tale of a single dad and separated mom who end up going to South Africa for reasons that one assumes involved a free holiday for everyone involved (remember, Michael Caine supposedly signed up for Jaws 4 because the script said "Fade in, the Bahamas"). The result is a desert of laughter-free desolation, although after the statutory rape and incest jokes of That's My Boy, the blend of skull-scraping tedium and casual racism on display here seems almost innocuous.
