Bleacher Reports predicts Raiders QB Derek Carr will throw 25 TDs in 2020

Not many noticed, but Derek Carr actually had a pretty solid 2019 season. He improved on his completion percentage (70.4 percent), threw for the most yards of his career (4,054) and had a career-high passer rating of 100.8.

However, many believe Carr still needs to take a few steps forward as a passer in order to continue being the Raiders’ starting quarterback. With the additions of Henry Ruggs, Bryan Edwards and Jason Witten, the Raiders are hoping that can happen.

In a recent article by Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report, he took on the daunting task of trying to predict every starting quarterback’s stat line for the 2020 season. Moton is very optimistic about Carr in 2020, projecting him to make a significant leap in Year 3 with Jon Gruden. Here is the full prediction by Moton:

368 completions, 538 attempts, 4,212 yards, 25 touchdowns, 7 interceptions, 34 carries, 88 rushing yards, 1 touchdown

The Raiders brought back all five starting offensive linemen and improved their receiving corps this offseason. You would think that would help Carr become even more efficient in 2020, but a lot will depend on how quickly the rookies can get up to speed.

But if Carr can post numbers that are even close to what Moton projects, the Raiders should be legit contenders in the AFC. Look for Carr to have one of the best seasons of his career in 2020 with all of the new talent surrounding him.
