Bleacher Report names Ravens’ biggest red flag heading into 2022 draft

The Baltimore Ravens have added plenty of talent over the course of 2022 free agency, but are always looking for more ways to improve their roster. They’ve signed safety Marcus Williams, offensive tackle Morgan Moses, and defensive lineman Michael Pierce, while also signing Patrick Ricard. However, there is more work to be done.

When listing out one red flag heading into the 2022 draft for every NFL team, Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report mentioned the edge rusher position as Baltimore’s. However, first he mentioned two other needs, starting with cornerback.

“…When healthy, Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters are a formidable duo. But both are coming off injury-wrecked seasons, and with them on the shelf, Baltimore’s pass defense imploded, ultimately allowing the most yards (278.9) in the league.”

Davenport then talked about offensive tackle as a red flag for the team.

“…When healthy (there’s that caveat again), Ronnie Stanley is one of the best in the business. Morgan Moses was a good get in free agency. But Stanley has missed a staggering 26 games over the past two years.”

Finally, Davenport got into his pick of edge rusher, looking at the depth that the Ravens currently have there.

“However, there’s one area in which the Ravens know they need help. It’s why they tried (and failed) to bring back Za’Darius Smith in free agency. Baltimore managed just 34 sacks last season (a bottom-10 mark), and right now, the team’s starters on the edge are a relatively unproven youngster in Odafe Oweh and Tyus Bowser, who is coming off an Achilles tear.”
