Bleacher Report names Harrison Smith the Vikings’ best first-round pick of the decade

The Vikings have had good value for many of their draft picks as of late, but none might be greater than the value they got for Harrison Smith.

Smith has excelled in Mike Zimmer’s defense in his career so far, making the Pro Bowl every season since 2015.

Bleacher Report thinks Smith’s career has earned the title of best first-round draft choice this decade. Here’s some of what the outlet said about the choice:

“For much of his eight seasons in the Twin Cities, Harrison Smith has been one of the game’s best safeties. He’s been a full-time starter from day one, making at least 13 starts in every season except 2013.”

From Anthony Barr to Dalvin Cook, the Vikings have had their share of pretty good draft picks, but none has been greater than Smith these past 10 years. I think this decision is a no-brainer.

Hopefully, the Vikings can draft some players on defense who translate to the NFL as well as Smith did.
