The highly anticipated sequel to Bleach is finally here, after making fans wait for more than 10 years.

Its 16th season aired back in 2012 and left viewers without closure. But Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will set that right.

The full English voice cast, including Johnny Yong Bosch and Michelle Ruff, will be reprising their roles.

Here’s everything we know about the beloved anime’s release date and where you will be able to watch it.

What will Bleach: A Thousand-Year Blood War be about?

The official synopsis of the Japanese anime explains: “The peace is suddenly broken when warning sirens blare through the Soul Society. Residents are disappearing without a trace and nobody knows who’s behind it.

“Meanwhile, a darkness is approaching Ichigo and his friends in Karakura Town.”

When will Bleach: A Thousand-Year Blood War get released?

Bleach: A Thousand-Year Blood War’s first episode, called The Blood Warfare, was released on Monday, October 10, at 4.30 pm.

The production company behind the anime, VizMedia, announced that the final part of the Bleach story would consist of 13 episodes divided into four groups, with a break in between each group of episodes.

Where can I watch Bleach: A Thousand-Year Blood War?

UK viewers will be able to watch the new series on Disney+, while US fans will have to head over to Hulu.

Bleach fans who need a refresh or anime newbies can also catch up on all of the 16 previous seasons of Bleach, which consists of 366 episodes, on Disney+.

Currently, the streaming platform charges users £7.99 a month or £79.90 for a year.
