Bleach attack on woman was racially motivated, police believe

Police in Bolton are appealing for information after a suspected bleach attack on a woman, which is thought to be racially motivated.

The shocking attack happened in Crown Lane, Horwich, at about 1.30pm this afternoon.

Officers say a substance that appeared to be bleach was thrown at the woman, in her 20s, from a moving vehicle on the road.

It isn't clear what injuries the woman suffered.

An appeal for witnesses has since been issued on social media by Greater Manchester Police .

GMP Bolton North tweeted: "This afternoon at around 1.30pm, a female in her twenties was attacked with what appears to be bleach from a moving vehicle on Crown Lane in Horwich in what appears to be a racially motivated attack.

"If anybody witnessed anything, or has any CCTV footage showing the incident please contact 71376@gmp.police.uk."
