Blazers Carmelo Anthony does not make trip for Monday vs. Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are playing their first back-to-back of the young season over the next few days, but there will be one big name missing in the second half of their back-to-back on Monday night against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Blazers are without Carmelo Anthony, who did not travel with the team to Los Angeles in accordance with the team’s health and safety protocols. Therefore, fans will miss out on seeing Carmelo take the court against LeBron James again.

It’s safe to say that Anthony didn’t expect to miss the game and have to stay home. Anthony posted this photo on his Instagram, with the caption clearly looking forward to tomorrow’s game against LeBron and the Lakers.

The rest of the notable Blazers are expected to be healthy on Monday night, including their two stars, Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. The Lakers were without Anthony Davis on Sunday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
