Blaze near Scots dam results in emergency response

Multiple fire crews were called to help put out a fire at a building near a Scottish dam.

The building alight was at a yard in Invergarry in the Highlands, near access to the Glengarry Dam.

Firefighters from Fort Augustus Fire Station responded to a call at 1.29am on Tuesday, June 22.

The team from Fort Augustus was also joined by others from the Foyers, Drumnadrochit & Fort William branches.

There were no casualties as a result of the blaze, according to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 1.29am on Tuesday, June 22 to reports of a building on fire approximately one mile from Invergarry towards Kyle.

“Operations Control mobilised four appliances and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a number of container units.

“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
