Flames engulfed what appeared to be a classic sports car on a busy Newport road this afternoon.
Emergency services responded to the incident which on Malpas Road shortly before 3pm on Tuesday June 23.
The incident took place on the busy A4051, close to Malpas Library and Malpas community centre.
A crew from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene and the fire was extinguished.
Officers from Gwent Police were also called to the scene. No traffic management measures were required.
A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "At approximately 2:47pm on Tuesday, June 23 2020, we received reports of a vehicle fire on Malpas Road, Newport.
"A crew from Maindee attended the scene and extinguished the fire. A stop message was received at 3:07pm."
A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "We were called to the scene but by the time officers arrived the fire was under control."
The spokesperson confirmed that the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
