A large fire broke out at a family home in Little Stoke yesterday (Sunday, April 10), triggering a huge emergency service response from 30 firefighters, police and paramedics

Crews were called to the property on Bush Avenue, after reports at around 8:25 pm of a blaze that saw three residents escape from the burning building to receive medical attention.

A spokesperson from Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: "Approximately 30 firefighters from Patchway, Avonmouth, Southmead, Temple, Kingswood and Yate were called to reports of a house fire. On arrival, crews found the house well alight."

The fire service said three residents “self-rescued” and was checked over by ambulance staff at the scene and at around 12:15 am, crews from Kingswood were re-deployed back to the property to complete a full risk assessment and ensure the property was safe from re-ignition.

The cause of the fire is thought to be accidental.

Bristol Live understands a collection is being arranged locally for the family affected.
