Blaze breaks out at Bristol apartment block

Dramatic pictures show a huge blaze that broke out at a Bristol apartment block.

Crews were first called to reports of a fire at 4.19am on Monday, where flames erupted on a Hartcliffe balcony of a four-tier apartment block.

Vehicles from Bedminster and Temple fire station attended blaze on Lake Shore Drive.

A fire spokesperson said: "Upon arrival, the fire trucks had 'access issues' , meaning they had to improvise to access the incident.

"They then used a high-pressure hose reel to extinguish the fire and crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke from the affected flat.

"It is thought the cause of the fire was accidental.

"Thankfully nobody is believed to have been hurt in the fire."
