Blathnaid Treacy 'delighted' to fill in for Sinead Kennedy on RTE's Today Show

Blathnaid Treacy said Sinead Kennedy has left her “some stylish shoes to fill” as she is set to replace the Today Show co-host.

The popular gaeilgoir will fill in on Mondays and Tuesdays from next week while Sinead goes on maternity leave with her first baby, RTE confirmed yesterday.

Blathnaid said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining the show having presented alongside Daithi
[O Se] before.

"It’s such a great programme, a staple of Irish television for so many years with Maura, Daithi and Sinead.

“I want to wish my good friend Sinead the very best of luck on her maternity leave.

“She’s left behind some stylish shoes to fill.”

The 33-year-old, from Bray, Co Wicklow, has been
a regular face on the popular afternoon show in recent years.

Blathnaid filled in a couple of times for Maura Derrane, who is the main anchor along with Daithi, but also presents a movie and podcast review section every Monday called Something For The Week as
well as being their fashion guru.

The talented broadcaster is also the show’s go-to fashion reporter, highlighting the latest trends each week.

The ratings for the Today Show have been going through the roof during lockdown and it is understood Blathnaid is seen as a steady pair of hands by producers.
