Blantyre Vics issue stay-away fan warning ahead of pre-season schedule kick-off

Blantyre Vics have urged fans to stay away from Castle Park during their pre-season schedule.

The West Region co-Championship winners are gearing up for their West of Scotland League Premier Division debut with closed door warm-up games.

However, the Vics have called for fans to avoid risking their personal safety by trying to catch a glimpse of games from vantage points near the Lanarkshire ground.

A club statement read: "Over the coming weeks we have friendly fixtures organised ahead of our planned league start next month.

"There are strictly no fans allowed in attendance, this is why we will not advertise these matches.

"Please stay away from the ground to protect yourself as well as others and so we can return to normality as soon as possible.

"We will of course be updating you with live updates, pictures and highlights so you can feel as close to the action.

"We wish you were there with us, but please for now support us from home and we will see you back very soon."
