Blantyre man goes missing as police 'increasingly concerned' for his welfare

A man has vanished from South Lanarkshire overnight, sparking a police investigation.

James Lindsay has been reported missing from Blantyre.

The 50-year-old has not been in contact with friends since around 5pm on Tuesday.

James is described as white, around five feet, eight inches tall and of a slim build.

He has short, brown hair and blue eyes.

Police are 'growing increasingly concerned' for his welfare.

Anyone who might have seen James or knows of his whereabouts are urged to come forward.

Inspector Sacha Solman said: “We’re growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of James.

"We would ask that if anyone may have seen him or knows his current whereabouts to please contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 2827 of Tuesday, August 2."
