They’ve spent years honing their musical skills and now you can watch as two Blantyre cousins ‘dive in’ to their first duet together.
Talented musicians Joe Gallacher, of Toy Tin Soldier fame, and Jane Henderson, who is one fourth of the Divas, have joined forces and recorded their version of Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga’s Oscar-winning hit Shallow from the blockbuster film A Star is Born.
The pair have been working tirelessly over the last few months on their own singing careers, with Joe just completing a sell-out tour as part of Johnny Mac and the Faithful, supporting Rod Stewart’s UK leg, while Jane recently recorded a stunning cover of The Beatles hit Let it Be with X Factor finalist Nicky McDonald.
Now though, the cousins have collaborated on Shallow, with their video dropping today (Friday, January 31).
Jane, a former pupil at St John Ogilvie High, told the Advertiser: “I’ve been wanting to duet with Joe for a while now but we’ve always been so busy. Finally though we managed to get together and get this song recorded in the New Year, following the end of Joe’s Rod Stewart tour and in between my gigs.
“The song has been really well received on social media and we were delighted with the final outcome of the video.
“It was really nice to finally duet with my cousin.”
Joe, who performs regularly on the pitch at Celtic Football Club and at club corporate events, added: “Jane was keen to record a version of Shallow and so asked if I would perform alongside her, and I was of course delighted to help and get together to record the song. It’s the first time we’ve worked on a song together and we were very happy with the final take.”
Jane, who has shared the stage with Kelly Lorena, Liberty X and Atomic Kitten to name but a few over the years, added: “It’s a really exciting year ahead with duets and collaborations an ongoing venture for me in 2020.
“In fact, I’m off to LA in the United States to work with the producer Cameron Neilson, who recently produced K POP’s new album and works with the likes of Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello. Whilst there, I’ll be recording original music and songs that are due for release in the summer.”
