Blantyre charity band 'Tyre Walk n' Rollers' are back with Sunday Sesh 4

Popular Blantyre fundraising band the 'Tyre Walk n' Rollers' are back with a bang for 2021.

The guys - Blantyre's very own quintet of John Tierney, River City actor Scott Fletcher, Kevin McInally, Alan McDonald and Toy Tin Soldier singer Joe Gallacher - are returning for another Sunday Sesh, taking place at The Hoolets Bar beer garden on September weekend.

It will be the first time the lads have performed together in over two years - and once again the gig is being held in aid of Blantyre's Terminal One youth organisation.

Band member John told Lanarkshire Live : "We are absolutely buzzing to be bringing back Sunday Sesh 4 to The Hoolets on Sunday, September 26.

"The last gig we held together in 2019 raised £2000 for Terminal One and we hope to smash that this year.

"With a year and half of COVID restrictions the people of Blantyre must be relishing getting back out and about and supporting a local charity, pub and band as tickets have already sold out and we are so grateful for everyone's ongoing support.

"You won't be disappointed at all!"

The Tyre Walk N Rollers are also asking those who are attending on the day to bring along an item of non-perishable food for the Hamilton and District Foodbank.

The five friends have long since assisted the foodbank and Terminal One over the years raising thousands of pounds for the youth group via gigs and taking part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk.

Their funds have helped to send the children who use the services away on day trips, purchase new equipment and for 12 local children to attend the Hop-Scotch project.

All proceeds from the event are going direct to the charity.
