Cate Blanchett, Ben Mendelsohn, Rebel Wilson and Yvonne Strahovski were among the winners at Monday's AACTA award ceremony.

Television series Stateless, which Blanchett co-executive produced and acted in, cleaned up the television awards.

The 13 nods for the fictional look at Australia's immigration detention system, based on the story of Cornelia Rau, included best telefeature or miniseries, best television screenplay, and four acting awards.

Blanchett won the prize for best supporting actress in a television drama for her work in the series. Actors on the show, including Handmaid's Tale star Strahovski, won all other television acting awards.

Babyteeth was the most celebrated of the nominated films, winning nine awards including for best film, best direction for Shannon Murphy, and best screenplay for Rita Kalnejais.

The feature film stars Little Women actress Eliza Scanlen as a Sydney teen who falls in love with a drug dealer while undergoing cancer treatment.

Its four stars -- Scanlen, Toby Wallace, Mendelsohn and Essie Davis -- took home each of the film acting awards.

Children's hit show Bluey was named the best children's program. Another ABC program, Shaun Micallef's Mad As Hell was awarded best comedy entertainment program.

The ceremony at Sydney's Star casino marked the tenth year the screen industry prizes have been awarded.

Due to COVID-19, film and television works were celebrated in two separate sittings.

Other winners included Masterchef Australia (best reality program), Gogglebox Australia (best factual entertainment program), Rebel Wilson (best presenter for LOL: Last One Laughing Australia), and Tim Minchin (best comedy performer for Upright).
