Blake Lively is the latest star to join the cast of Woody Allen’s next film, according to Deadline.

Lively, who first gained fame with her role in the TV drama Gossip Girl, will star alongside Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart and Bruce Willis in the untitled film. Her other screen credits include The Town and Green Lantern.

As is standard with Woody Allen’s work, plot details are scarce at this stage but the film will be produced by Letty Aronson, Stephen Tenenbaum and Edward Walson, his usual team. His next film Irrational Man, which stars Joaquin Phoenix and Emma Stone, will premiere at Cannes this month. The film focuses on the relationship between a philosophy professor and a student.

Allen’s output has been hit and miss of late with critical and commercial failures such as Magic in the Moonlight, To Rome With Love and You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger countered with the success of Blue Jasmine, Midnight in Paris and Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

It’s been a strong year for Lively, who has just seen her romantic drama The Age of Adaline, in which she plays a woman who doesn’t age, make $24m in two weeks in the US as counter-programming to Avengers: Age of Ultron and Fast and Furious 7. It his UK cinemas this week.

She’ll next be seen in All I See Is You, a drama from director Marc Forster about a blind woman who regains her sight.
