In celebration of Gossip Girl‘s 18th anniversary, Blake Lively, who plays ‘it-girl’ Serena van der Woodsen, has shared a bunch of behind-the-scenes snaps that truly embody the late 2000s to early 2010s.
The nostalgia HURTS.
The iconic series famously followed the “scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite”, launching the careers of Lively, Leighton Meester and Penn Badgley, and ensuring no one will ever forget the opening whistle of Peter Bjorn and John’s ‘Young Folks’.
“The summer Gossip Girl turned 18,” she wrote in the caption of her throwback post.
“This show was my college. It was my education, my social life, my hard work, my late nights and early mornings, my teacher. New York City and Silvercup Studios (& sometimes Paris) was my campus for SIX years.
“So many memories. What. A. Decade. What a University.”
Within the mammoth behind-the-scenes dump, fans can catch glimpses of her fellow Gossip Girl stars, including Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick and the late Michelle Trachtenberg.

The dump also features snaps of series creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.

Lively recently brought Serena back to life while promoting her cocktail brand, Betty Booze, alongside Zuzanna Szadkowski, who also reprised her Gossip Girl character, Dorota Kishlovsky, for the ad.
In the ad, the girly pops exchanged “tea”, just like our anonymous gossip sleuth would on the show.
Lively’s tribute to the beloved series comes amid her highly publicised and highly heated legal battle with It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni.
In December 2024, Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and orchestrating a “smear campaign” against her, which he has denied.
Baldoni then countersued Lively, which was then dismissed in June 2025. Lively lawsuit against the Jane The Virgin star is currently ongoing, with the pair scheduled to meet in court in May 2026.
