Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds snub Met Gala for celebratory trip to North Wales

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have left their loyal fans wondering why they chose not to attend the 2023 Met Gala Ball in New York City on Monday night.

The biggest celebrities in showbusiness, including Kim Kardashian, Anne Hathaway, and Robert Pattinson were all in attendance in showstopping looks as they stormed the red carpet, but Hollywood power couple Blake, 35, and husband Ryan, 46, were nowhere to be seen.

As it turns out, Blake and Ryan snubbed the prestigious Met Gala Ball because they are expected to be at the Wrexham open bus tour today instead as they celebrate Wrexham's historic return to the EFL.

The Reds are set to host an open top bus parade through the city on Tuesday, after sealing the National League title with a historic tally of 111 points.

The team became champions with a 3-1 win over Boreham Wood at the Racecourse last weekend, and they then signed off a campaign with a 1-1 draw at Torquay United on the final day.

The players are set to continues to celebrations today, with hopes that the club's co-owners will be there for the party having previously confirmed they would be skipping the Met to celebrate in Wrexham.

Hollywood actor Ryan and his co-owner Rob McElhenney are expected to celebrate with their team on the open top bus.

Speaking to Access Hollywood at a screening of Welcome to Wrexham in Los Angeles, Ryan and his wife Blake were quizzed about what they were planning to get up to after they confirmed they would be skipping the Met Gala this year.

To which Ryan replied: "We'll be in the UK. We have Wrexham business to deal with."

And when asked about Wrexham's incredible season this year, Ryan added: "I'm still a little, to be totally frank, speechless about it.

"So many things had to go right that involved dumb luck in addition to obviously putting in a strong foundation.

"A lot of things went right. Things we never expected.

"Like another team being incredible this entire season, which created such a tension in not just Wrexham but globally for everyone watching Wrexham. It's been a pretty remarkable journey."

Blake and Ryan's decision to skip the Met Gala this year comes after the Hollywood couple hosted the ceremony last year alongside Regina King and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
