Blake Griffin personally thanked Pistons reporters after his final press conference

Whereas Thunder guard Russell Westbrook has engaged in a years-long feud with the Oklahoma City media (more specifically, The Oklahoman columnist Berry Tramel), the adversarial relationship with journalists doesn’t apply to every superstar around the league.

In fact, when it comes to Pistons star forward Blake Griffin, it is essentially the opposite.

Griffin spoke to reporters on Tuesday as the Pistons cleared out their lockers following the season-ending loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. When Griffin was done speaking, he went around the room and personally wished every journalist covering the team a good summer and thanked them for their work.

Yeah, you shouldn’t expect to see that kind of gesture from Westbrook or Kevin Durant, who dished out his own criticism for reporters this week.

Griffin is one of the league’s more accessible superstars, and he admittedly finds ways to enjoy his media obligations. He said in a Hot Ones appearance that he likes to watch reporters from the podium and judge their nervous anticipation to ask a question (13:30 mark).

See — press conferences can be fun.
