Blake Griffin comments on Michigan State and Tom Izzo recruiting him in high school

The Detroit Pistons and their star power forward Blake Griffin are currently hosting training camp at Michigan State and the Breslin Center, and after today’s practice, Griffin was asked if he was ever recruited by Michigan State when he was in high school and he confirmed that Izzo did visit him before Griffin ultimately chose Oklahoma. You can watch the video above.

Griffin said that he didn’t get to interact much with Izzo due to the strict recruiting rules at the time but did remember getting to leave school early to go play in the gym while Izzo watched and chatted with Griffin’s father.

The Pistons will be opening up a few of their practices to the public, including one this Saturday at 11am ET at the Breslin Center.

And remember, the second half of this Saturday's practice at @BreslinCenter will be open to the public! Doors scheduled to open at 11 a.m.
