A fire spread through the car park of a Bristol beauty spot this afternoon (September 5).

A blaze began at Blaise Castle and spread to a number of cars, according to an eye-witness at the scene.

Fire crews and police were called as it unfolded. Pictures show serious damage to at least two cars after the fire.

An eye-witness told Bristol Live: "The fire brigade came and put it out really fast.

"A group of friends and myself were sat not far away and we saw smoke and smelt burning tyres.

"One car quickly spread to three cars.

Blaise Castle is a a 650 acre estate with a children’s play area, museum and castle.

The blaze follows another fire at a restaurant in Bristol city centre earlier today.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for comment.
