'Blade' attack leaves Glasgow man with horror injuries as cops launch probe

Two men burst into a Glasgow home and left a man with horror injuries following a 'blade attack' this morning.

Police raced to a property on Meiklerig Crescent in Pollok following the savage assault, which happened at around 3am on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old male occupant was attacked by two unidentified men who forced entry into the property.

Police say the man suffered injuries "consistent with being struck with a bladed item" which required hospital treatment.

The two men, who were both dressed in dark clothing, also smashed windows at the property before leaving eastwards on Meiklerig Crescent.

Detective Constable Paul Hendry of Govan Police Station said: "Our enquiries into the is incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have seen or heard anything to get in touch.

"We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or private CCTV footage from around the time of the incident.

"If you can help then please call 101, quoting incident 0321 of 30 March, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
