Blade attack dog theft terror in Glasgow as balaclava-clad thugs storm couple's home and snatch puppy

Blade-wielding balaclava thugs burst into a Glasgow home and stole a nine-week-old puppy.

Three men broke into the property in Meiklerig Court in the Pollok area of the city at around 10pm on Wednesday.

One of the crooks threatened the home owner with 'a bladed weapon' before swiping the pup.

They all made off in the direction of Meiklerig Crescent towards Linthaugh Road carrying the American Bulldog.

The suspects are all described as tall and muscular.

At the time of the incident they were wearing black balaclavas and dark coloured tracksuits.

The dog was snatched from a property in the Pollok area of Glasgow on Wednesday night (Greater Glasgow Police Division)

Nobody was injured during the horror raid.

Police are appealing to witnesses, those with dash-cam footage in the area, people who've approached to buy a puppy similar to the pooch in an photo shared by cops or anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Constable Christopher Sneddon said: “Thankfully nobody has been injured as a result of this incident but the owner has been left evidently shaken.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have noticed three men acting suspicious in the area to come forward and speak to officers.

“If there is anyone who has possible CCTV or dashcam footage that could assist with our enquiries, please get in touch with police.

“I would also ask if anyone is approached about buying a puppy similar to this to get in contact with police.

“Police can be contacted on 101 quoting incident number 3960 on Wednesday, April 14."
