Blackpool Pleasure Beach's Halloween scarefest comes with a warning because it's so terrifying

Blackpool Pleasure Beach will be holding a hair-raising Halloween event this year, and organisers have issued a warning to prospective vistors.

The theme park bosses say that its special event - the Journey To Hell Freak Nights - has "set a new bar for the fear factor".

It will run for four days - from October 27 to October 31 - as part of the Vampire Beach programme, especially set up for Halloween.

Guests are cautioned the event will give you the "fright of your life" with extreme content - where visitors are given a safe-word to use if they get too scared.

While the organisers are reluctant to give too much away, they have revealed the scare zones extend into never before seen parts of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, the Manchester Evening News reports .

Areas include a Ouiji themed paranormal theme, a scare maze, a network of previously unseen underground horror tunnels and an S&M arena, plus the the fearful ICON and the theatrical and realistic Pasaje Del Terror - although further details have not yet been revealed.

A full list of potentially terror-triggering themes have been released by the park, to advise guests exactly what they are in for before they book their tickets.

Those embarking on the Journey to Hell are warned it will include;

  • Sexual content
  • Latex
  • Confined spaces
  • Offensive language
  • Blackout hoods
  • Low/no visibility
  • Loud noises
  • Strobe lighting

It is also advised that the whole experience is a "physically demanding environment and and is in no way suitable for those with a nervous or weak dispositon.

Those who do get too frightened while on the experience are escorted to the nearest possible emergency exit.

The Journey to Hell opens its doors to the public from October 27 - 31, 2019 with experiences running at 6.30pm, 8pm and 9.30pm.  Tickets are £29 each.

Vampire Beach has a full programme of Halloween themed events and runs at Blackpool Pleasure Beach from October 12 - 31 2019.  You can find out more  here .
