Blackpool Pleasure Beach announces when it will reopen in 2021 as Covid restrictions easing

Blackpool Pleasure Beach has announced when it is reopening in 2021 after the Prime Minister's roadmap announcement on Monday.

In a message to guests issued this week, it said: "In line with government guidelines we plan to re-open Covid secure and 'Good To Go' on Monday 12th April. We look forward to welcoming you back to share in our 125th year."

Visitors are urged to book in advance online to avoid disappointment and use eTickets so they can enter the park safely.

The management said: "Please do not plan to visit us should you have any symptoms associated with Covid-19.

"The most common symptoms of Covid-19 are recent onset of a new continuous cough or a high temperature (over 38°C) or a loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia).

"We may also ask that you have your temperature checked at the park entrance."

They added: "To enable social distancing across our outdoor amusement park we have capped the number of guests allowed on the park on a daily basis to give you a safe and enjoyable day out."

Among the measures that have been introduced are a range of more frequent and enhanced deep cleaning measures across the park, rides and attractions.

Hand sanitisation facilities are provided. Visitors are being urged to wash their hands with soap and water in one of the many facilities around the park and also use the hand sanitiser dispensers located around the park.

Teams around the park will be equipped with a range of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This PPE is to protect team members and guests.

The entire Pleasure Beach team is temperature tested daily.

Guests must visit and remain in one household or support bubble during their visit.

Teams have received full training in preparation for the 2021 season. All teams, in all departments, including customer facing and behind the scenes, are temperature tested before commencing work each day.

Social distancing measures have been introduce in queue lines around the park. And guests are urged to "please strictly observe these guidelines, respecting other guests and follow the advice of our team at all times."

A dedicated plan for each ride has been developed and implemented in order to enable social distancing between groups. This will vary according to each ride and signs and guidelines and instructions will be used from ride operators.

To help staff to enable social distancing during visits the direction of travel along some of walkways has been changed.

In all retail shops, takeaway units, ticket sales, arcades, most of our rides, and in all other enclosed public areas (excluding catering outlets which provide table service) visitors are required to wear a face covering.

The Pleasure Beach management also recommend that you wear a face covering whilst you are in a queue line, in addition to social distancing.

Face coverings will be available to buy at Pleasure Beach, but staff suggest visitors bring two face coverings each.

On some rides, it may be necessary for staff to leave empty seats between guests.

Contactless payments are the only method of payment during visits.

A new online food ordering system has been developed allowing visitors to purchase food for a contact-less service.

Restaurants, cafes and takeaway units will be open but please bear in mind many of these will operate in different ways. Additional outdoor seating has also been arranged in dedicated areas around the park.

For the safety and well being of all our guests and staff, Blackpool Pleasure Beach has a dedicated team of security officers patrolling the park.
