Blackpool's chief executive has admitted that the club could once again move for Ellis Simms in the January transfer window.
The Everton striker enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Seasiders in the second half of last term, scoring ten goals in 24 appearances to help Neil Critchley's side into the play-off final.
Injury ruled the 20-year-old out of that final match of the campaign and made sure he missed the whole summer, however, scuppering any chance of another potential loan.
However, Ben Mansford has refused to rule out another move for Simms in the upcoming transfer window.
The striker is out-of-contract at Everton at the end of the current season, and Blackpool's chief executive would hope his side are in pole position to perhaps secure another loan in the winter.
Mansford told the Blackpool Gazette : “I’m sure talks are going on between Ellis and his advisors. Ellis really enjoyed his time here and we enjoyed having him, so I would hope we will continue to keep relations with both Everton and Ellis’ agent.
“Let’s wait and see if it’s right for all parties, as it was when he first joined us. If it’s right in the future, then I’d like to think Ellis feels fondly about his time here.
“There’s obviously a situation with his contract that might need to play out at Everton first, but I’d hope we would be capable of securing him back if it was right for all parties.”
Simms was involved in Rafa Benitez's squad for games against Aston Villa, QPR and Norwich City recently - but was absent for the trip to Manchester United just before the international break.
