South Korean pop group BLACKPINK have set two new YouTube records with their music video for single “Kill This Love”.

The video, which premiered on Thursday, first broke the record for the most views in 24 hours (56.7 million). The record was previously held by Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next”, by 1.3 million.

The girl group also broke the record for the fastest music video to reach 100 million views. It took them just two days and 14 hours to achieve the feat, surpassing the record set by fellow K-pop sensation PSY and his video for ”GENTLEMAN” in 2013.

These aren’t the first records the girl band, comprised of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa, have broken. Their June 2018 single “DDU-DU DDU-DU” made them America’s highest charting female K-pop act in US history, reaching 55 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The video is also the most viewed video by a K-pop group on YouTube, with over 700 million views.

‘Kill This Love’ is the title-track of their second EP, which consists of five tracks including a remix of “DDU-DU DDU-DU” released on Friday.

BLACKPINK are playing their first ever European dates this May, including a show at London’s SSE Arena, Wembley.
