Actor Arunoday Singh’s love for writing poetry is well known to his fans. However, many would be surprised to know that his writings have landed him invitations to various literary and poetry festivals.
The actor, whose hit films also include Yeh Saali Zindagi (2011) and Aisha (2010), firmly believes in nurturing artists who share a keen interest in poetry. And for the same, he has been travelling to recite his poetry and Haikus to various festivals.
“I love what various festivals and groups are doing for poets and spoken word artists. There is an entire subculture that needs much nurturing and celebrating,” says Arunoday, who was last seen in the film Blackmail.
The actor adds, “It’s a tough and lonely thing to be a writer, who is not associated with Bollywood. It’s important to nurture these talents. And it’s always amazing to me the number of people who come to listen at these festivals.”
