A man who was arrested after a dad was knifed in front of his toddler in Blackley has been released under investigation.
Detectives investigating Sunday's attack arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder on Monday afternoon.
That man has now been released under investigation 'pending further enquiries,' police say.
The 31-year-old victim was stabbed as he was loading his child into his car on Southdown Crescent in broad daylight on Sunday.
He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
Police now believe the attack was targeted.
Officers cordoned off a section of Southdown Crescent, which runs off Charlestown Road in Blackley, shortly before midday on Sunday following the attack.

Forensics officers were seen working in the street and a forensic tent was partially placed over a white Ford. A blue Ford saloon was also parked in the middle of the road.
A GMP spokesperson confirmed: "The 29-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
"Shortly after 11:40am on Sunday 5 May 2019, police received a report that a man had been stabbed on Southdown Crescent.
"The 31-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
"From what officers know at the moment, it’s believed this is a targeted attack.
