CHICAGO _ The Blackhawks survived another game without some of their injured veterans as they defeated the Stars 3-1 on Sunday at the United Center.
The Hawks played without Jonathan Toews (back), goaltender Corey Crawford (appendectomy) and Brent Seabrook (apparent head injury).
The Stars got on the board first in the second period when Devin Shore scored after cleaning up a rebound of a John Klingberg shot that hit the side of the net 1 minutes, 25 seconds into the period.
The Hawks answered 52 seconds later when Marian Hossa shot the puck from the left wing. Kari Lehtonen stopped the puck initially but it rolled past him and into the net at 2:17 to tie the score at 1.
The Hawks got their second goal of the night later in the period. After a penalty ended on Ryan Hartman, Hartman emerged from the penalty box and won a puck battle with Stars defenseman Stephen Johns. Hartman put the puck on Lehtonen but Lehtonen came up with the save.
However, Artem Anisimov charged the net and fought for the rebound with Johns, who ended up banking the puck into the net off Anisimov's skate at 12:30. It was Anisimov's 12th goal of the season.
The Hawks added a goal in the third period from Artemi Panarin, who sent home a blistering one-timer at 10:03 to provide some insurance.
Former Hawks Johnny Oduya, who had not played since Nov. 19 because of a lower-body injury, was back in the lineup Sunday. Another former Hawk, Patrick Sharp, missed the game because of concussion symptoms.
