Blackhawks Star Player Had a Rather Poetic Ending to Legendary Career in Chicago

Thursday night marked the final time Jonathan Toews would play for the Blackhawks after the team announced before the game that they will not be re-signing him to a new contract in the offseason.

Toews has played his entire 15-year career in Chicago, helping the team win three Stanley Cup titles in that span.

Needless to say, Thursday night was going to be an emotional one for Toews and Blackhawks fans when he took the ice at the United Center for the final time.

Before time expired on Thursday, Toews made sure to end his Blackhawks career in fashion. In the second period against the Flyers, the team’s final game of the season, Toews scored a goal that caused the crowd to erupt in cheers for their veteran player.

Coming into Thursday night, Toews had scored 371 goals in his career, sixth-most in Blackhawks history. Thursday’s No. 372 was the fitting finale to his prolific tenure in Chicago.
