With the Wild's loss to the Flyers, the Hawks moved eight points ahead of them in the Central Division.

Ales Hemsky scored his second of two goals on the night to tie the score at 14:51.

After the Stars missed on a short-handed breakaway, Kane and Richard Panik ended up in a 2-on-1 going the other way. Kane carried the puck into the offensive zone and decided to keep the puck instead of passing to Panik. It was a good decision that resulted in Kane's 33rd goal of the season.

The Stars got on the board in the second period when Hemsky scored from the slot at 12:26 during a period the Stars outshot the Hawks 14-7.
