Blackhawks rally to pick up a point but fall to Canucks in overtime

CHICAGO _ Everything is on the table for the Blackhawks in the last three weeks of the regular season.

The way they have played since the beginning of February, they could end up with the Presidents' Trophy for having the most regular-season points and have home-ice advantage throughout the Stanley Cup playoffs.

But if they slide, they might lose their grip on the Central Division and end up in second place, which could mean beginning a second-round series on the road.

"We're going to look at trying to be in first in our division and if we can get the conference _ that's what we're looking at," coach Joel Quenneville said. "Anything after that is a bonus."

The Hawks took a small step toward bonus territory as they picked up a point in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Canucks at the United Center.

Daniel Sedin got the winner at 2:12 of overtime on the power play.

The loss ended a five-game winning streak.

Ryan Hartman's second goal of the night with 1 minute, 3 seconds to play in regulation completed a comeback from a three-goal deficit in the third period.

It was an abbreviated night for goaltender Corey Crawford, who left early in the third period after allowing his fourth goal on just 10 shots. Coach Joel Quenneville pulled Crawford after Brandon Sutter's second goal 2:15 into the period.

Sutter's goal put the Canucks ahead 4-1 on a weird night for the Hawks, who limited the Canucks' scoring chances for much of the game. But when the Canucks got opportunities, they made the most of them.

Crawford stopped the only two shots he faced in the first 19 minutes, but the Canucks' third shot went in with 59.5 seconds remaining in the first period. Henrik Sedin redirected a pass from his brother Daniel in front of Crawford to give the Canucks a 1-0 lead.

The Canucks scored on their next two shots on goal 6:12 apart. First Sutter put a move on Crawford in front at 1:33 to make it 2-0.

The Hawks appeared to be getting on track soon after when Hartman scored his 17th goal on a power play at 3:15, but not long after, Reid Boucher scored on a one-touch shot in front of Crawford at 7:45.

It set up a scenario similar to Sunday's game against the Avalanche in which the Hawks played well but found themselves down 3-1 to one of the Western Conference's worst teams. In that game the Hawks were able to stage a furious rally that included three goals in 34 seconds to complete a comeback for a 6-3 win.

Sutter's second goal made the comeback attempt more difficult Tuesday. The Hawks got one back when Marian Hossa scored his 23rd goal on a power play at 5:48 and another when Richard Panik scored his 20th goal at 8:10.
