Jonathan Toews knocked in a rebound of his own short-handed breakaway attempt with 1 minute, 34 seconds remaining in overtime to give the Hawks a thrilling victory. Corey Crawford (19 saves) outdueled former Hawks prospect Carter Hutton (35 saves) to earn the victory. Johnny Oduya also scored for the Hawks. Shea Weber had the Predators' goal.
Predators 3, Blackhawks 2
Oct. 23 at Bridgestone Arena
James Neal scored a goal in each period to lift the Predators in another hard-fought battle between the Central Division rivals. Ben Smith and Andrew Shaw scored for the Hawks, but it wasn't enough as Pekka Rinne made 30 saves to earn the win over Hawks backup Antti Raanta (24 stops).

Dec. 6 at Bridgestone Arena
The Hawks kicked off a four-game trip with their sixth consecutive triumph. Marian Hossa led the way with two goals while Brandon Saad added a goal and an assist. With Crawford sidelined with an off-ice injury, Scott Darling was in goal for the Hawks and made 32 saves to beat Rinne. Colin Wilson scored for Nashville.

Dec. 29 at the United Center
The Hawks rallied from a three-goal, second-period deficit and won it on Toews' goal in the shootout. Crawford made 36 saves through overtime, and the Predators missed all three attempts in the shootout. Bryan Bickell had a goal and an assist, and Hossa, Shaw and Brad Richards scored against Rinne. Neal had two goals and Craig Smith and Roman Josi also scored for the Predators.
