For the second time this month, the Blackhawks placed goalie Corey Crawford on injured reserve.
The team announced the move Wednesday morning and said it had recalled goalie Jeff Glass from Rockford, along with forward David Kampf.
Crawford missed three games at the beginning of December and will miss at least that many this time because he must sit out for a minimum of seven days. The Blackhawks, who face the Canucks on Thursday, did not disclose the nature of the injury.
The soonest Crawford could return is Jan. 3 against the Rangers in New York.
When he returned from his last injury, a lower-body ailment, Crawford helped the Hawks snap a five-game losing streak during a 3-2 overtime win against the Sabres. The Hawks went on to win five in a row. Crawford, who turns 33 on Sunday, is fourth in the NHL with a 2.27 goals-against average and third with a .929 save percentage in 28 games this season.
Glass, 32, is 10-4-2 with a 2.60 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage in 18 games this season for Rockford. He is 61-82-4 in 175 career AHL games and has not played in the NHL.
Kampf, who will be 23 in January, is fourth on the IceHogs with 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists).
The Blackhawks recalled goalie Jean-Francois Berube the last time Crawford was injured. But Berube has been out with an injury of his own for the IceHogs.
