The Blackhawks placed goalie Corey Crawford on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury Friday and recalled Jean-Francois Berube from Rockford.
Crawford played 60 minutes, 51 seconds Thursday and made 31 saves during the Hawks' 4-3 overtime loss to the Stars at the United Center.
Crawford, who appeared to get back to his feet slowly while making a save during the third period Thursday, will miss at least one week because he was placed on IR.
Crawford is 11-7-2 with a 2.29 goals-against average, seventh in the league. He's tied for fourth with a .930 save percentage.
Berube is 6-6-0 with a 2.54 goals-against and .913 save percentage in 12 games with the IceHogs. He has played in 21 NHL games spanning two seasons, including 14 appearances with the Islanders last season.
The Hawks signed him July 1.
