Dec. 05--The Blackhawks are the most expensive hockey ticket on the resale market, both at home and on the road, several online ticket brokers said Thursday.
A Blackhawks game at the United Center tops the NHL leaderboard with a median resale price of $225, based on sales data from the beginning of the season to Wednesday. The Rangers rank second at $204, and are one of five Original Six teams, along with the Hawks, that placed in the top six. The Red Wings are tied for 18th at $89.
On SeatGeek, the average Hawks ticket has gone for $162, $14 more than the second-place Maple Leafs. That's up $3 from the Hawks' ticket price on Dec. 3, 2014, when the team was the runner-up to the Leafs.
It's the same story on StubHub, on which the Hawks have supplanted the Leafs as the priciest ticket, coming in at $130 this season. The Leafs led the full 2014-15 season at $142 while the Hawks trailed just behind at $132.
This year, SeatGeek data show the Hawks also hold the lead in driving up prices in other markets, fetching an average resale price of $123 at road games.
At the other end of the spectrum, the Hurricanes rank last on Vivid Seats' list at $56 as of Wednesday, while the Panthers are last on SeatGeek at $44.
