April 17--NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Having already achieved a major portion of their goal this week with a victory in Game 1 of their first-round postseason series against the Nashville Predators, the Chicago Blackhawks are looking to take command of the best-of-seven series in Game 2 on Friday night.
"We came here to try grab at least one win and we already have the first one, which was really, really important," winger Marian Hossa said following the morning skate in preparation for Friday night's game at Bridgestone Arena. "Now, we would like to get another one and go home with a two-game advantage. We know it's not going to be easy and we have to play like we did after the first period (Wednesday night)."
The Hawks will send the same lineup on the ice in Game 2 and hope to build on the four goals they hit Preds goaltender Pekka Rinne with in Game 1, including Duncan Keith's score in double-overtime to give the Hawks a 4-3 victory. That goal came off a shot from the point that made it's way through traffic in front.
"We have to get traffic on him," Hossa said. "He's a big goalie. Even on Duncs' shot there was good presence in front of (Rinne) and he had to look around and the puck went by him. If we do lots of this we have a good chance."
Corey Crawford will get the start in goal for the Hawks. Antoine Vermette, who has started 475 consecutive regular-season games, will be a healthy scratch for the second contest in a row.
