March 26--PHILADELPHIA -- Coach Joel Quenneville shook up the Chicago Blackhawks' lineup as the team concluded a four-game road trip with a showdown after the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday night at the Wells Fargo Center.
Among the scratches for the Hawks were forwards Bryan Bickell and Teuvo Teravainen while Andrew Desjardins and Daniel Carcillo drew into the lineup. David Rundblad also sat for the Hawks.
First period summary
After 20 minutes of play, the Flyers led 1-0 on the strength of a Wayne Simmonds goal.
In the nets
Corey Crawford started his third consecutive game in goal for the Hawks and was opposed by Steve Mason for the Flyers.
Kane update
Winger Patrick Kane continues to skate in Chicago while recovering from a broken left collarbone suffered Feb. 24 against the Panthers. Quenneville said the timetable for Kane's return remains the same. It's fairly unusual for a player who is likely to remain out for around two months to be skating but Quenneville said Kane "loves to skate. 'Kaner,' he's different, he wants to be out there. I don't think he gets tired of it."
Future watch
Quenneville liked the signing of Bartlett native Vince Hinostroza to a three-year, entry-level contract Saturday.
"You like the way he skates and competes and brings a lot of energy to the game," Quenneville said of Hinostroza, the Hawks' sixth-round selection (169th overall) in the 2012 draft. "He's got some upside offensively. He's against it with his size but he brings the intangible of playing an all-out game and he's got some quickness to his game."
