Feb. 14--The Chicago Blackhawks welcomed a couple of new faces to the lineup when they played host to the New Jersey Devils on Friday night at the United Center.
West Dundee native Ryan Hartman made his NHL debut and skated on a line with fellow winger Patrick Sharp and center Marcus Kruger.
Making his Hawks debut was defenseman Kyle Cumiskey, who drew into the lineup due to an upper-body injury to Michal Rozsival.
In the nets
Corey Crawford started his second consecutive game for the Hawks and was opposed by Cory Schneider for the Devils.
Roster report
Hartman was in the lineup in place of Ben Smith, who was a scratch for the first time this season. Fellow blue liner Tim Erixon remains sidelined with a lower-body injury. Sitting for the Devils were Martin Havlat and Mark Fraser.
Together again
Niklas Hjalmarsson and Johnny Oduya were reunited along the Hawks' blue line against the Devils. The other pairings were Duncan Keith-David Rundblad and Brent Seabrook-Cumiskey.
The quote
"It's just going to make me push that much harder to get back in there and when I do, try to be a bigger factor in the game." -- Smith
