Feb. 07--WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- The Chicago Blackhawks looked to reverse a couple of disturbing trends when they battled the Winnipeg Jets on Friday night at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg.
The Hawks had fallen to the Jets in three previous meeting this season -- all at the United Center -- and also were coming off two consecutive shutouts during their seven-game road trip.
In the nets
Corey Crawford started his second consecutive game in goal for the Hawks and was opposed by Michael Hutchinson for the Jets.
Roster report
Daniel Carcillo returned to the Hawks' lineup for the first time since serving a six-game suspension for an illegal hit on the Jets' Mathieu Perreault on Jan. 16. Joakim Nordstrom and Tim Erixon were healthy scratches. Sitting for the Jets were Paul Postma, Jay Harrison and Patrice Cormier.
Health matters
Forward Kris Versteeg filled in for a resting Brad Richards as the center on the second line during the Hawks' morning skate but isn't yet ready to return to the lineup after suffering a left hand injury Jan. 1 against the Capitals.
"I don't expect (Versteeg) to play Monday, but hopefully Wednesday or Friday for sure," Hawks coach Joel Quenneville said.
