CHICAGO _ The Blackhawks dropped their second straight game after falling to the Jets 2-1 on Sunday at the United Center.
The Jets and Hawks were scoreless for most of the first two periods until the Jets got their first power play of the night following a hooking penalty on Patrick Kane.
Dustin Byfuglien set up center Bryan Little with a nice pass in front of the net. Little one-timed a shot past Scott Darling for a 1-0 lead.
The Hawks looked listless for most of the night but finally got on the board when Artemi Panarin scored off a one-timer from Patrick Kane to tie the score at 1 at 13:06.
That tie would not last long as Andrew Copp, who had hit the crossbar prior to Panarin's goal, scored from the right circle at 15:15. The Hawks had a power play the final 2:49 of the game after a double minor high sticking penalty on Jacob Trouba, but they could not convert.
The Hawks played without Jonathan Toews (back) and Corey Crawford (appendectomy).
Darling is in net for the Hawks while the team recalled Lars Johansson from Rockford to be the backup while Crawford is out. The Hawks sent forward Nick Schmaltz to Rockford in the corresponding roster move.
